Odisha Assembly Adjourned For 30 Min, Speaker Calls All-Party Meeting
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly on Friday witnessed pandemonium with BJP, Congress MLAs continuing with their demand for the resignation of Agriculture Minister Arun Sahoo over Nayagarh minor girl kidnap-murder case.
Congress leader Taraprasad Bahinipati sought an SIT probe into the case. The BJP legislators also rushed to the well of the House with these demands.
Unable to conduct the proceedings, Speaker Surjya Patro adjourned the House for 30 minutes till 11:30 and convened an all-party meet to end the deadlock.
The state government on Thursday had ordered a Crime Branch probe into the case. While refuting allegations of his involvement in the incident, Sahoo had welcomed the decision.
