Odisha Assembly Adjourned Sine Die Ahead Of Schedule
Bhubaneswar: The 15th session of the Odisha Assembly was adjourned sine die two days ahead of the schedule.
After the house approved the vote on account (interim budget), which was presented by Finance minister Sashi Bhusan Behera on Thursday, Speaker Pradip Kumar Amat adjourned the house after accepting a motion for the early closure of the budget session moved by the government chief whip Amar Prasad Satpathy.
The budget session of the 15th State Assembly, whose term will expire in June this year, began on February 4 and was scheduled to end on February 12.
While the question hour session in the house could not be conducted properly, there was no discussion during the adjournment motion due to the commotion by the Opposition Congress and BJP members. The ruling BJD members had also shouted slogans against the Central apathy during the question hour session on Friday.
Out of seven workdays, only five workdays could be conducted amid ruckus in which the department ministers had replied to three written questions.
Apart from this, 14 annual reports and 8 committee reports were tabled while the Chief Minister had made one statement on the law and order during the budget session.
