Odisha: Balasore Man Nabbed By Delhi Police For Online Fraud
Balasore: A man from Balasore’s Basta area was arrested by Delhi’s Amar Colony police for an online fraud.
The accused has been identified as 35-year-old Sanmay Panda. Panda used to operatie an Aadhaar card correction and kiosk banking sub-centre by the name of Digital Seva at Basta.
Panda had allegedly withdrawn Rs 54,000 from the account of an elderly woman by finger print withdrawal method and a case was registered by Basta police. The woman learnt about the fraud only after going to the bank.
After the incident, the accused started targeting people from outside Odisha. On an occasion he had also hacked the SBI website and made fake payment slips which he used to give to different company for placing order.
After getting the products that he used buy through online orders, he used to resale those in different markets at lower price and also used to dispose of the SIM card,” said police.
He was under Delhi police radar when he recently placed an order for automobile parts from NAREDI.IN an export and import company of Delhi and received it too. He used to provide GST number of different persons and used those to place online orders.
He will be produced before CJM court Balasore after which he will be taken to Delhi,” the statement added.
