Odisha: Berhampur MKCG Medical Goes Online For OPD Appointments

Berhampur: MKCG Medical College and Hospital here has introduced online registration for patients seeking appointment in outpatient department (OPD) to check heavy rush.

Superintendent of MKCG Hospital, Prof Dr Santosh Mishra said this is an experimental initiative to reduce the waiting time for patients attending OPD.

“The service was launched on Tuesday and the response has been positive. Patients can register their names on the website http://mymkcg.com They will be provided with a token on their arrival at the hospital after which they can directly visit the OPD,” he added.

The system is equipped with an SMS gateway so that the patients can get a confirmation of their registration as a text message, said the MKCG Superintendent.

On an average 3000 patients visit MKCG daily. Though the number has come down to 2000 after COVID third wave, the rush continues and to check long queues as well as prevent the infection from spreading, online registration facility has been started, said the hospital authorities.
