Bhubaneswar: The Odisha BJP unit on Sunday launched a website to seek public opinion for preparation of its ‘Sankalp Patra’ (manifesto).
Launching the new portal www.bjpodishasankalppatra.com at the party office here, chairman of the Manifesto Committee Biswabhusan Harichandan said his party aims to build a modern, prosperous and vibrant Odisha and India.
“Since our party is committed to effecting a sea-change in the economy of the state and the country, we seek people’s cooperation and valuable suggestion to prepare our ‘Sankalp-Patra’ which will be an instrument to create Nua Odisha and Nua India,” he pointed out.
He said the BJP will focus on agriculture, industry and food processing units in the state.
Coming down heavily on the Odisha government for launching the KALIA scheme, Harichandan claimed that it is fraud scheme only to hoodwink and mislead the farmers.
Stating that the scheme is not executable, he said while sharecropping is illegal as per law, how come the state government has decided to provide financial assistance to them?
Terming the KALIA scheme a political gimmick of the BJD, he said the ruling government with a purpose to garner a chunk of the farmers’ vote, has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 5000 to about 68 lakh beneficiaries from the state exchequer.
The BJD, on the other hand, has refuted the statement of the BJP leader.
“KALIA is not the scheme which has been formulated overnight by the state government. It is the outcome of a series of programmes which were carried from 2014 to date,” BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb said.
