Odisha BJP Poses Several Questions To Minister Naba Das On His Cook’s Death
Jharsuguda: Even as Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das on Saturday said the law will take its course on the alleged suicide of his cook, opposition BJP raised several issues pertaining to the incident and posed questions to the minister to clarify.
Speaking to media persons, here, district leaders of BJP Trinath Goel, Dinesh Jain and others alleged that the minister and his close associates were involved in the murder of Lalit Kumar Sahu, the cook of Das who was found hanging in the staff quarters of Das’ official residence in the town.
Following are some of issues raised by the BJP leaders on the incident:
- Who was the first to see the body of Lalit and at what time. Who informed his brother and police about his alleged suicide and at what time.
- Which police officials reached the spot and whether Lalit’s body was recovered in presence of his brother or not. Di police take the photograph of hanging body? If yes, it must be made public.
- Where was minister Naba Das at the time Lalit committed suicide? The phone call records of the minister, Lalit, minister’s daughter Dipali Das, district collector and SP should be verified by an impartial investigating authorities.
- The recording of CCTV camera installed at the minister’s house and Jharsuguda police station should be checked
- Who performed the post-mortem of Lalit’s body and was it shot in video camera?
- Who ordered to perform the post-mortem after midnight violating the norms?
- The names of police officials who have been posted in Jharsuguda should be revealed.
- The investigation should be handed over to CBI as district administration and police were involved in it.
- The activities of Jharsuguda IIC Sabitri Bal, who has been in the post for the last 5 years, should be investigated
- The financial transactions made by Lalit through his mobile phone during the last 2 months should be brought under the ambit of investigation
- BJD spokesperson has claimed that minister Das was not present in Jharsuguda on April 17 when the incident took place, while it is public knowledge that Das attended several programmes in the district on the day which was the death anniversary of legendary leader Biju Patnaik. The phone call records of the spokesperson should be checked.
