Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday suspended as many as 12 persons holding different party positions in the state as a disciplinary action.
According to a press release of BJP, on the recommendation of district presidents, state president of the party Samir Mohanty has suspended its 12 leaders from membership for anti-party activities and violating the party discipline.
The following leaders have faced the suspension order:
- Koraput district executive committee member Dilip Swain
- Sunabeda municipality leader Rajendra Kumar Patra
- Rayagada district Mahila Morcha secretary Sujata Patnaik
- Rayagada district executive committee member B Gangadhar
- Nabarangpur Municipality leader Malaya Jena and Mahila Morcha general secretary Babita Sahu
- Sundargarh executive committee member Dr Himanshu Sarangi
- Sundargarh district OBC Morcha vice-president Baikuntha Bananthar
- Sundargarch town president (SC Morcha) Mahesh Tanti
- Former mandal president of Tusra in Balangir district Amaresh Kedia
- Former Jharsuguda district secretary Manoj Agarwal
- Nuapada district general secretary (SC Morcha) Nimai Charan Tandi
