Odisha BJP To Prepare Roadmap For 2024 Polls During Sunil Bansal’s Visit
Bhubaneswar: After its Padampur bypoll debacle, Odisha BJP has started chalking out a roadmap for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections due in 2024 with party’s state in-charge Sunil Bansal set to hold a brainstorming session with senior leaders on Saturday.
BJP national general secretary and Odisha in-charge Bansal, considered the chief strategist of the saffron party, is likely to allocate important tasks among the state leaders to focus on different Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies for the 2024 polls, sources said.
Senior leaders of the state, including general secretaries, district presidents, other office bearers, workers and key members of the core team are likely to attend the session.
The focus will be on steps required to strengthen party organisation, while plans to highlight the state government’s failures will be given proper shape at the meeting, BJP’s state general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said.
“Strategies for strengthening party organisation at every level will be finalised and requirements for 2024 general elections will be brainstormed,” he said, voicing the confidence that 2024 elections will being about a change of guard in Odisha.
Stating that the process for selecting suitable candidates for all 147 Assembly seats has already started, Harichandan said BJP will fight 2024 elections with added vigour.
The party has already started working on the organisational procedures and many important decisions will be taken in the meeting.
The party’s defeat in the recent by-election to Padampur Assembly constituency in Bargarh district will also be analysed and necessary corrective measures taken.
