Bhubaneswar: Odisha Born Duleshwar Tandi aka Rapper Dule Rocker, who started gaining recognition for his extraordinary rap music, has reportedly said no to Bollywood.
Dule’s videos and gritty lyrics have become quite popular on social media platforms, and many Bollywood producers and noted Indian rappers have approached him.
However, Dule, who hails from a poor Dalit family, is not interested in Bollywood and wants to compose rap songs based on the hardships faced by poor Indians.
“I don’t want to promote sleaze or liquor in my songs. Migrant workers like us have too many issues. Those things would find a place in my songs,” he was quoted as saying by HT.
Born in a poor family of Odisha, Dule had to face a lot of obstacles to complete his graduation. Even after completing his graduation, very few job opportunities were available for him.
The ‘gully rapper’ had started writing lyrics for rap music during his college days.
“When I used to write lyrics for rap music, everyone used to dissuade me. Everyone used to say ‘what would you gain out of it’. But in my heart I knew that I wanted to be a rapper,” Dule was quoted as saying by HT.
