Ganjam: A Class-IX student of UGHS High School of Merikote Panchayat under Sorada block in Ganjam district has invented a seed rowing machine. Bruhaspati Dalabehera of the school has showcased this project in a block-level science exhibition.
Bruhaspati hopes that the machine will help farmers and increase their self confidence. Most of the districts of our state are agro-based. With paddy production, farmers also do millet and vegetable farming in Odisha. Many people depend on farming for their livelihood. Seed rowing is a lengthy process in farming.
Bruhaspati has used an iron pipe, some unused parts of a cycle and some unused parts of plastic in the machine. It works beautifully on a farming land and can also be used for cutting grass.
Given some finances from the government, this machine cab be modified further, said Bruhaspati’s guide, Raghunath Behera.
