Bhubaneswar: The annual budget 2020-21 presented by Finance minister Niranjan Pujari in the Odisha Assembly on Tuesday proposed Rs 7700 crore allocation to the Health sector.
Following are the allocations earmarked for the infrastructure development and the ongoing health schemes.
—Allocation for the Universal Health Assurance Scheme under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana has been increased to Rs 1108 crore with an assurance of Rs 10 lakhs for women and Rs 5 lakhs for men.
—Rs 578 crore for Mukhya Mantri Swasthya Seva Mission
—Rs 1000 crore to transform the SCB Medical College and Hospital as an AIIMS-plus Hospital and Medical College
—Recruitment of additional 2000 doctors, 6000 nurses and 2000 paramedics in one year.
—Rs 562 crore for seven new medical colleges being constructed in the undivided KBK region
