Odisha Cabinet Nod To 17 Proposals; Land For Paika Bidroha Memorial, Dharmashala In Puri
Bhubaneswar: A cabinet meeting headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved 17 proposals, including IT Policy 2022 and amendment to Odisha Mobile Towers, Optical Fibre Cable & related Telecom Infrastructure Policy, 2017, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Niranjan Pujari told the Odisha Assembly on Tuesday.
The Cabinet has cleared a proposal for construction of Dharmashala in Baselisahi area of Puri at a cost of Rs 135.60 crore. The project will be implemented under the Augmentation of Basic Amenities & Development of Heritage and Architecture (ABADHA) scheme and completed in 24 months by Sriji Krupa, which has been roped in through tender.
Similarly, the Odisha government will provide 9.68 acres of land at Khurda to the Ministry of Culture for the construction of Paika Bidroha Memorial at Barunei foothills, the battleground of Paika Bidroha, free of premium, capitalized value and incidental charges.
To boost investment and attract employment opportunities in the IT sector, companies will be provided 25 per cent of the total investment. The eligible IT firms will also be given 30 per cent rebate of their investment for infrastructure development.

The tender for construction of Kansariganda in-stream storage structures across river Rushikulya near village Barada in Ganjam district at an amount of Rs. 149.60 crore also got the Cabinet nod. The work is expected to be completed in 36 months.
The Cabinet also approved a new State Sector Scheme – State Support to MGNREGS – to arrest distress migration in 20 migration-prone blocks of four districts – Balangir, Bargarh, Kalahandi and Nuapada.
Tenders for the execution of mega water supply projects worth Rs. 1165 crore in Koraput, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur and Angul districts were also given the go-ahead. Around 35404 people of 129 villages under 15 GPs of 2 blocks in Rayagada will benefit from the project.
Similarly, 16,032 people of 58 villages under 7 GPs of Ramanguda block and 19,372 people of 71 villages under 8 GPs of Kolnara block in Koraput district will be provided with safe drinking water.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal for relaxation of the provision under para 6.6 of the Action Taken Report (ATR) on recommendations of the Fifth State Finance Commission regarding Assignment of Taxes out of SGST in lieu of Entry Tax for Panchayati Raj lnstitutions (PRls) to accommodate the salary and other establishment charges of District Rural Development Authority (DRDA) employees after their merger with the Zilla Parishads.
