Odisha Cabinet Nod To PGIMSR At Capital Hospital In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Tuesday gave the go-ahead to the construction of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science & Research (PGIMSR), Trauma Care & Surgery complex with casualty at Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar, with an investment of Rs 235.08 crore.
According to the Works Department release, this will help to improve medical education in the state and cater to the needs of qualified doctors required for health institutions.
“The PGIMSR will also facilitate health services at cheaper cost for the people of the state,” it further said.
The Cabinet has approved the lowest bid of Rs 235,08,91,000 crore by Larsen & Toubro Ltd. The project will be completed in the next 24 months, the release added.
The PGIMSR at Capital Hospital has been conceived on the model of PGI Chandigarh. The design has been prepared to ensure that patients get seamless paramedical and other pathological services within the shortest possible time.
It will have two separate five-storey buildings, comprising administrative and academic blocks with lecturer theatres, and a complex of three other five-storey buildings for senior resident quarters and hostels. The entire complex will be environment compliant with provisions of rainwater harvesting structure, solar panels and barrier-free structures, sources said.
