Odisha Chief Secy Asks Collectors To Speed Up Economic Activities

Bhubaneswar: Chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra on Tuesday directed the district collectors to speed up economic activities and implementation of different welfare programmes at the grassroot level.

Speaking at high level meeting through video-conference, Mohapatra said in the unlock scenario, the collectors should focus on irrigation, horticulture, lift irrigation, dairy farming, housing and road construction works. However, he cautioned the departments to follow the COVID-19 protocols and SOPs strictly.

Stressing on hearing of people’s problems and finding their early solutions, the chief secretary told the collectors that they should be easily accessible to the people. Further, he advised the senior officers to start district visits and resolve the field level implementation issues as and when they emerge.

Development Commission Pradeepta Kumar Jena directed the collectors to identify the loopholes in the implementation of different schemes in their respective districts in 10 days and advise the implementing officials accordingly.
