Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Monday arrested clerk-cum-accountant of Lakhanpur Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) in Bargarh district, Dhruba Charan Sahu, for allegedly misappropriating public money to the tune of over Rs 31.47 lakh.
According to a Vigilance release, he siphoned off Rs 31,47,685 by not depositing the collected loan repayment amount and manipulating the Day Book of the society, showing less closing balance, during the financial year 2019-20. “He is being forwarded to Court of Special Judge Vigilance, Bargarh,” it said.
A case has been registered under Sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(a) PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, against Sahu and further investigation is underway.
