Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday approved the proposal for creation of 196 posts in permanent police outposts across the state.
According to a release from chief minister’s office (CMO), the new posts have been created by way of redistribution of other posts in the police department. The new vacancies include posts of 28 inspectors and 168 constables.
The new police officials will be appointed in 28 permanent outposts. Each outpost will have one inspector and 6 constables.
They will be responsible for investigation into criminal cases and maintaining law and order in the areas under the jurisdiction of their respective outposts, the release stated.
