Bhubaneswar: To revive the sagging rural economy amid COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved a special assistance package for the poor, extremely poor and migrant workers of Odisha.
The package includes Rs 50,000 loan assistance for the development of MSME sector. The loan can be availed by any member of the Woman Self-Help Group or any of her family members.
For the agriculture and non-agriculture sectors, the government will provide Rs 1.5 lakh as a loan, which can be availed by small industrial units that have been around for more than six months and manufacturers older than one year.
Besides, Rs 20,000 loan assistance will be provided to MSME units run by the extremely poor and destitute.
Apart from this, Rs 1 lakh loan assistance will be provided to the skilled and semi-skilled migrants, who have returned to the state, to start a new enterprise or revive an existing one.
