According to reports, Das was on his way to attend a Governor’s event in the town when he saw a man in a pool of blood, wreathing in pain, on NH 16. He immediately rushed him to the district headquarters hospital in his own car and asked the doctors to provide him the best of treatment. The victim was identified as Dasaratha Maharana (42), a native of Simulia under Balasore district. He had met with an accident while approaching Bhadrak town on a two-wheeler.
