Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen on Thursday urged people of Odisha to sing ‘Bande Utkal Janani’ at 5.30 pm on May 30 (Saturday) to motivate corona warriors, working relentless to ward off the crisis.
“Bande Utkal Janani was the original song of Utkal Sammilani during the movement for the formation of separate province of Odisha. Now, it will inspire us to strengthen our commitment to the fight against coronavirus. It will provide us the strength to face the challenges ahead,” he said.
The CM said that saving life of people from COVID-19 was his government’s sole priority amid this crisis.
Despite the return of thousands of Odia migrant brothers and sisters in the last two months, Odisha was in a better position in the fight against COVID-19, he said, adding that the role of the corona warriors had been very crucial in containing the pandemic.
“Keeping aside their personal worries, they are providing services to people day and night,” Naveen said.
“I am also grateful to the people of Odisha for their massive support to all our initiatives in the war against COVID-19. Besides, we have with us the blessings of the Mahaprabhu,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Naveen had a telephonic conversation with sarpanch, Asha and anganwadi workers, who contracted COVID-19 while serving people.
He praised them for their courage and dedication in providing outstanding service to society and wished them speedy recovery. “They will be a source of inspiration to others,” he added.
