Odisha CM Launches KALIA Scholarship
Bhubaneswar: After the success of the Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation (KALIA) scheme for farmers, the state government has taken upon itself to assist the children of the beneficiaries through a scholarship programme.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unveiled KALIA Chhatra Brutti at the State Secretariat here on Tuesday. It will help children of KALIA scheme beneficiaries, who are studying and aspiring for technical and professional education. The state government will bear all the expenses, including course fees, hostel fees and mess charges.
The Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Department, in a letter to Higher Education, Health and Family Welfare, Skill Development and Technical Education and Vice-Chancellor Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, has urged the heads of different government institutions imparting professional/technical education to intimate their students, whose parents are KALIA Scheme beneficiaries, to apply for the KALIA Scholarship.
The students can apply online on the kalia.co.in/scholarship portal from Tuesday itself.
The funds will be directly sent to the bank accounts of the eligible students through DBT.
The portal on KALIA Scholarship will require applicant’s information through documents like proof of permanent address, Aadhar number of applicant, parents’ information, Aadhaar number of father/mother/guardian, bank details, academic details and undertakings.
