Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday unveiled ‘Mo School’ mobile app to commemorate two years of the launch of the alumni connect programme.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the scheme had achieved “unprecedented success” in its intent and forged an emotional link between the alumni and their alma maters.
“Mo School has made huge inroads into the collective wisdom of the people, encouraging them to give back to their alma maters,” the Chief Minister said.
“An institution’s alumni are key to its growth. And no one is likely to be more concerned and caring for an educational institute than its former students,” he said, adding that this attachment had led to the ‘Mo School’ initiative.
He felicitated techno-entrepreneur Amarendra Sahoo, the contributor of the ‘Mo School’ app, released a coffee table book and a newsletter.
Naveen reached out to the community at large and sought their support in building a vibrant Odisha, which harbours a healthy education ecosystem. He said the contribution of the alumni and growth of top global institutes such as MIT and Harvard, IIT or IIM cannot be overstated. They were the key to the success of these institutes, he said.
“Today’s students are tomorrow’s alumni. A sense of pride needs to be instilled in our present generation of students. ‘Mo School’ will be an ideal way of doing so,” he said.
The government launched the ‘Mo College’ initiative seeing the success of ‘Mo School’, he added.
