Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday laid foundation stones for various projects worth Rs 550 crore in Ganjam district and announced that a revised DPR would be prepared for the development of Tara Tarini temple.
The Chief Minister, who attended a state-level youth convention at Aska in Ganjam, gave instruction to the officials to prepare a fresh detailed project report (DPR) for the development infrastructure at Tara Tarini shrine in Purushottampur block of the district.
Majhi laid foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 550 crore, including five irrigation initiatives, a high-level bridge, and a major road expansion plan. He also announced plans to establish a world-class skill training institute in Polasara.
Stating that Odisha will be a land of numerous possibilities for the youth in the coming days, he said the state is witnessing a golden era and there will be plenty of opportunities in different sectors of the economy.
Stressing that the state government has set a target to make Odisha a $ 500 billion economy by 2036, the centenary year of its formation, Majhi said the aim is to make the state $ 1.5 trillion economy by 2047, the centenary year of India’s independence. The youths of Odisha will play a significant role in achieving this target, the CM said.
Noting that over 1.7 crore people in Odisha are in the age group of 15 to 35, the Chief Minister said the state government is preparing the roadmap for the future keeping this in mind.
Majhi also stressed that the state government has decided to provide 11.25 per cent reservation for the students of SEBC in higher education.
While 28,346 youths have been provided with government jobs during one year, industrial projects worth over Rs 1.8 lakh crore were launched during this period which are set to create around 1.1 lakh new jobs, the CM said.
