Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan are among BJP’s star campaigners for the upcoming Assembly elections in Jharkhand.
Majhi, a tribal leader, is likely to play a significant role in attracting voters towards BJP in the tribal dominated Jharkhand.
Notably, the Odisha Chief Minister had addressed a few public meetings in Jharkhand during a visit last month to the neighbouring state.
Sources said the saffron party has roped in Majhi for the campaigning in Jharkhand to woo Odia-speaking people whose presence in that state is significant.
Dharmendra, who is also the Lok Sabha MP from Odisha’s Sambalpur, has already managed the BJP campaign in the Assembly elections in various states.
Altogether 40 leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states, have been included in the star campaigner list for Jharkhand.
Assembly polls will be held in Jharkhand in two phases on November 13 and 20.
