Odisha CM Mourns Brother-In-Law’s Demise, To Skip New Year Celebration

Bhubaneswar: Following the death of his brother-in-law and eminent editor Sonny Mehta, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided not to celebrate New Year.

Accordingly, the CM has requested well-wishers not to visit his residence Naveen Niwas on New Year’s day on Wednesday.

The son-in-law of Biju Patnaik and husband of renowned documentary film-maker and writer Gita Mehta,  Sonny Mehta had died on Monday.

He was the editor-in-chief of Alfred A. Knopf and the chairman of Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group.
