Bhubaneswar: In a quick response to a request for urgent medical attention, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday ordered immediate medical treatment of a 12-year-old boy from Balangir district.
As soon as he arrived at the Chief Minister’s grievance cell in Bhubaneswar, Majhi enquired about the health issues of the boy, who came to the cell with his family members from Saintala in Balangir to seek help for medical treatment.
On being informed about the medical condition of Alok Kalsingh, who is suffering from critical ailment and unable to walk, the Chief Minister directed the officials to immediately arrange an ambulance and shift the boy to the Capital Hospital.
Following swift action by the CM, Alok was shifted in an ambulance to the Capital Hospital and admitted there for necessary treatment. The Chief Minister also directed the officials concerned to ensure proper medical attention to the boy at the hospital, sources said.
Despite constant efforts by Alok’s family members and expenditure on healthcare, there had been no improvement in his health condition. Due to financial constraint and helplessness, the boy’s family had brought him to the CM’s grievance cell for assistance.
The Chief Minister also patiently listened to the grievances of others who visited the cell and made arrangements for quick resolution of their issues.
