Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday sanctioned second tranche of fund for construction of safe shelters against natural disasters in Odisha.
In order to protect the people from cyclones and floods, the state government has been constructing 55 new safe structures at a cost of Rs 98 crore. The chief minister had sanctioned Rs 29.36 crore for the project in first phase in April this year.
Naveen sanctioned Rs 29.36 crore in the second phase to speed up the construction works of the shelters across the state and directed to complete the project as soon as possible.
The Odisha State Disaster Management Authority (OSDMA) has undertaken the construction works of the safe houses.
