Bhubaneswar: A day after hinting at the possibility of contesting from western Odisha, BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday confirmed that he would fight the 2019 elections from two Assembly seats, Bijepur in Bargarh district and Hinjili in Ganjam district.
The Chief Minister also announced the list of candidates for nine out of 21 Lok Sabha and 54 out of 147 Assembly seats for the first and second phase polls.
The nine Lok Sabha candidates are Prasanna Acharya (Bargarh) Chandra Sekhar Sahu (Berhampur), Kousalya Hikaka (Koraput), Ramesh Chandra Majhi (Nabarangpur) Achyuta Samanta (Kandhamal), Puspendra Singh Deo (Kalahandi), Pramila Bisoi (Aska), Sunita Biswal (Sundargarh) and Kalikesh Singh Deo (Balangir).
Eight out of nine Lok Sabha candidates have been replaced.
The candidates for most of the Assembly segments under the above-mentioned Lok Sabha seats are as follows.
Koraput: Jagannath Sarika (Bisam Katak), Raghunath Gamango (Gunupur), Lal Bihari Himirika (Rayagada), Raghuram Padala (Koraput), Prabhu Jani (Laxmipur), Rabi Narayan Nanda (Jeypore). The candidate for Pottangi is yet to be announced.
Nabarangpur: Sadashiv Pradhani (Nabarangpur), Subash Gond (Umerkote), Manohar Randhari (Dabugan), Padmini Dian (Kotpad), Purna Chandra Baka (Chitrakonda). The candidates for Jharigan and Malkangiri seats are yet to be announced.
Kalahandi: Dusmanta Nayak Bhawanipatna), Bhupinder Singh (Narla), Dibya Sankar Mishra (Junagarh), Mausudi Bag (Dharmagarh), Rajendra Dholkia (Nuapada), Lambodar Nial (Khariar). The candidate for Lanjigarh constituency is yet to be announced.
Berhampur: Bikram Kumar Panda (Berhampur), Pradip Kumar Panigrahi (Gopalpur), Surya Narayan Patro (Digapahandi), Usha Devi (Chikiti), Subash Chandra Behera (Chhatrapur),
Kalyani Gajapathi (Paralakhemundi), Purnabasi Nayak (Mohana).
Aska: Manjula Swain (Aska), Purna Chandra Swain (Soroda), Nandini Devi (Sanakhemundi), Naveen Patnaik (Hinjili), Srikant Sahu (Polasara), Latika Pradhan (Kabisuryanagar), K.K. Suryamani Baidya (Khallikote).
Kandhamal: Chakradhar Kanhar (Baliguda), Saluga Pradhan (G. Udayagiri), Pradip Kumar Amat (Boudh), Mahidhar Rana (Kantamal), Bikram Keshari Arukh (Bhanjanagar), Ramesh Behera (Daspalla). The Candidate for Phulbani seat is yet to be announced.
Balangir: Tukuni Sahu (Titlagarh), Saroj Meher (Patnagarh), Niranjan Pujari (Sonepur), Ajay Das (Kantabanjhi), Padmanav Behera (Biramaharajpur). The candidates for Balangir and Loisinga seats are yet to be announced.
Bargarh: Debash Acharya (Bargarh), Snehangiri Chhuria (Atabira), Sustanta Singh (Bhatli), Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha (Padampur), Naveen Patnaik (Bijepur), Naba Kishore Das (Jharsuguda). The candidate for Brajarajnagar seat is yet to be announced.
Sundargarh: Jogesh Kumar Singh (Sundargarh), Mangala Kisan (Rajgangpur), Stephen Soren (Talasara), Sarada Prasad Nayak (Rourkela), Subrat Tarai (Raghunathpali), Ranjit Kisan (Bonai). The candidate for Biramitrapur seat is yet to be announced.
