Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra on Sunday said the allotment of Bagala Dharmasala land in Puri was “grossly illegal”.
Mohapatra said the land is a donated property and therefore it cannot be allotted or sold to any person.
The BJP leader’s charge came a day after the Puri Collector’s office clarified that the land was allotted to displaced sevayats who have sacrificed their land and houses for the beautification of the Jagannath temple periphery.
On his part, Mohapatra claimed that none of the allottees was “displaced” as the state government has bought their land four times of the present market value.
“I doubt whether the Chief Minister is aware of the allotment of land as some bureaucrats have taken this decision. Let the Chief Minister take up this matter personally and take stern action against these bureaucrats,” he added.
