Bhubaneswar: Announcing plans for the formation of several new civil defence organisations in the state, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday called upon the youths to join these outfits and contribute to the safety and security of citizens.
Noting that there are 12 civil defence organisations currently operational in the state, the Chief Minister said he has given direction for the formation of more such organisations in other areas as required.
The CM appealed to the youth mass of the State to join the civil defence organization as volunteers, serving the country and contributing to the safety and security of citizens.
Highlighting the significance of collective responsibility of protecting lives and property of people, the CM urged young people to come forward with a spirit of nationalism.
“The safety of lives and property of common people is our collective responsibility. Security and service are our highest duties,” he said
He encouraged interested individuals to apply directly to the Collectors, who serve as controllers of district civil defence.
The Chief Minister assured that these social activists would receive training and provide essential services to people in times of need.
Majhi expressed hope that the youth would join the civil defence organization with a motive of service and nationalism, further strengthening the spirit of service and patriotism in the state.
