Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department announced on Thursday that the admission process for postgraduate courses for the 2026–27 academic session will begin on Friday.
The Common Post Graduate (PG) Entrance Test (CPET-2026) will serve as the single gateway for admissions across state universities and colleges, ensuring a transparent and merit-based system.
Key Dates for CPET-2026 Application Process:
• February 27: Online application begins on the SAMS portal
• March 15: Last date for submissio
n of application forms
• April 27 – May 10: Entrance examinations across subjects
• July 10: Deadline for commencement of PG classes in all institutions
Candidates must register through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal, accessible at https://samsodisha.gov.in. Registration will be OTP-based, requiring valid mobile numbers and email IDs. Applicants must provide accurate personal details during the process to avoid disqualification.
The entrance test will be conducted in multiple subjects, and admission will be strictly based on marks secured in CPET-2026. Subject-wise provisional ranks will be published state-wide, after which candidates can opt for institutions based on cut-off marks and seat availability.
Officials emphasised that advancing the admission schedule will help streamline the academic calendar: ensuring classes begin on time and reducing delays in postgraduate education.
