Bhubaneswar: The State Selection Board (SSB), under the Department of Higher Education, has notified the schedule for Common Post Graduate Entrance Test (CPET) 2026, paving the way for admissions into various postgraduate programmes for 2026-27 academic session.
The entrance examination is scheduled to be held from May 5 to May 16 in two sittings each day: the first from 10 am to 11:40 am and the second from 3 pm to 4:40 pm. The test will cover around 50 postgraduate subjects offered across universities and colleges in Odisha.
According to the official schedule, candidates appearing for Commerce, Biotechnology, Sociology, Environmental Science, Education, and Anthropology will take the exam
on the first day (May 5). The final day (May 16) is reserved for subjects including Rural Development and Yoga & Naturopathy, among others detailed in the subject-wise timetable. The full day-wise and sitting-wise subject allocation is available on the SSB website.
A total of 58,708 students have applied for admission to 31,915 postgraduate seats. Candidates can download their admission cards from the official website of SSB (https://ssbodisha.ac.in/) from 11 am on April 30 by logging in with their application barcode number and date of birth.
The SSB has advised candidates to regularly check the website for any updates, as it reserves the right to change dates if necessary.
Selection will be based on CPET scores, followed by counselling and choice filling.
The Higher Education Department aims to commence PG classes in universities and colleges by around July 10, 2026, following the declaration of results, merit list publication, and completion of admission rounds. Provisional answer keys are expected shortly after the exams, with provisions for objections from candidates.
