Bhubaneswar: New facts are coming to light every day on woman Hansita Abhilipsa, who has been arrested by Odisha Police for allegedly duping many wealthy people of crores of rupees by posing as kin of high-profile leaders and bureaucrats.
As per sources, Hansita owns 3 flats in posh Z1 apartments in Bhubaneswar. She used to live in one of these flats with her associate Anil Mohanty, who has also been arrested.
Officials of Income Tax Department (I-T) and Commissionerate Police reportedly raided that flat on Thursday afternoon. Many important documents were stated to have been found during the raid.
Both I-T and Commissionerate Police took the duo on remand for interrogation to extract more information in the case.
Both were interrogated for a long time by the I-T and police. It was found that Hansita has 3 flats in Z1 apartment and both were taken to the prime residential complex. First, they went to flat number 703. The team searched the flat for a long time and reportedly found certain important documents.
It may be noted that Hansita and her aide Anil were arrested by the Commissionerate Police. Meanwhile, Hansita’s husband Saroj Sahu was nabbed by the Income Tax Department on Wednesday. Manoj, a Congress leader, was interrogated for a long time. His father and brother were also questioned by the I-T Department officials. According to the information received, Hansita is accused of having committed fraud to the tune of Rs 70 to 80 crores.
The Commissionerate Police said that if necessary, Hansita and Anil will be taken on remand again.
