Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader and Jatni MLA Suresh Routray on Monday demanded that the dumping yard be immediately shifted from Daruthenga, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
Briefing mediapersons here, he said several people of Daruthenga and the nearby villages are falling ill due to acute air pollution because of the dumping yard. “The Bhubaneswar Municipality Corporation should shift the dumping yard to an uninhabited place without further delay,” he added.
The Congress leader also demanded the government to immediately return the private land of the people of 27 villages of Jatni block.
“I demand the state government to immediately fulfil these two demands by January 26, failing which I will immolate self in front of Naveen Nivas,” he pointed out.
