Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader Narasingha Mishra was rushed to a private hospital after he fell unconscious at a party rally in the city on Monday.
According to reports, Mishra had arrived at a function near DAV School at Unit-8 on the occasion of the 136th foundation of the Congress. Later, he went to attend a rally in a vehicle to gherao the local CBI office. After reaching the CBI office, he suddenly fell ill while delivering an address.
Mishra was rushed to the Apollo Hospital where doctors began his treatment in the emergency ward.
Later, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik told the media: “Mishra had come all the way from his home town in Balangir to attend the party meeting today (Monday). After traveling such a long distance, he was exhausted. As he is a diabetic patient, he fell unconscious due to high blood pressure. But his health is now stable and he is all right.”
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had tweeted wishing early recovery and good health for Mishra.

Notably, Mishra had undergone a bypass surgery in a private hospital in Mumbai in May 2014.
