Rourkela: A day after ordering a Crime Branch probe, Odisha DGP Abhay on Wednesday dismissed former IIC of Birmitrapur police Station Ananda Chandra Majhi for his alleged involvement in the rape and forcible termination of pregnancy of a minor girl in Sundargath district.
“His conduct was shameful. Our apologies to the young girl,” the DGP tweeted.
Majhi was suspended in connection with the incident on June 26.

Following the DGP order, a Crime Branch team had left for Sundargarh on Tuesday to take charge of the investigation.
