Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported the second-highest single-day spike of 736 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which took the state’s tally to 17437 on Sunday. Odisha had registered 755 positive cases on July 10.
Of the new cases, 481 have been detected from quarantine centres while 255 are local contact cases.
According to I & PR department, Ganjam district reported the highest 247 cases followed by Khurda (107), Koraput (45), 40 each from Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur, Gajapati (39), Balasore (33), Cuttack (27), Sambalpur (25), Angul (22), Malkangiri (18), Sundargarh (17), Puri (14), Mayurbhanj (12), Nayagarh (10), eight each from Boudh and Rayagada, Kendrapada (7), Bhadrak (5), Balangir (4), Bargarh (3), Kalahandi (2), and one each from Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Nabarangpur.
With 86 deaths and 11937 recoveries, Odisha now has 5381 active cases.
