Odisha COVID Caseload Drops Below 500, 70K Testing For 2nd Day; 15% Infectees Children
Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 500 on Thursday as 412 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 549 new cases on Wednesday, 433 on Tuesday, 425 on Monday, 447 new cases on Sunday, 441 on Saturday, and 467 on Friday.
Of the new cases, 63 cases (15.29 per cent) are below the age of 18 years.
According to the I & PR department, 237 of the new infections are from quarantine and 175 local contacts. Khurda district reported the highest 189 cases, followed by Cuttack (46) and Mayurbhanj (14). Five districts saw nil cases.

Besides, 44 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 70,194 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.58 per cent.
While the COVID-19 tally has touched 1040230, Odisha now has 4747 active cases.
