Odisha COVID Update: Active Cases Cross 80K-Mark, TPR Rises To 15.61%; 6 Districts In RED Zone
Bhubaneswar: The active caseload went past 80,000 as Odisha added 11,086 fresh COVID-19 cases to its affected tally on Tuesday.
These include 1061 in the age group of 18 years.
The state had reported 10,489 cases the previous day, a slight drop from 11,177 on Sunday.
According to the I & PR Department, 6,431 of the fresh infections are from quarantine and 4,655 local contacts. The highest of 3469 cases have been reported from Khurda, followed by 1416 from Sundargarh and 766 from Cuttack.

With these cases being detected from 70990 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 15.61 per cent against 14.95 per cent on Monday and 16.28 per cent on Sunday.
Odisha now has 80,914 active cases with six districts – Khurda (27010), Sundargarh (10589), Cuttack (5808), Sambalpur (3704), Balasore (2936) and Mayurbhanj (2528) – in the RED zone.
Till Monday, 1200 of nearly 80,000 COVID patients in the state were in the hospital.
