Odisha COVID Vaccination Coverage Crosses 1 Crore; State Saves 2.9L Doses
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed 1 crore mark on Monday. A total of 1,01,03,607 doses have been administered to the people of the state till Monday evening (since January 16, this year), stated the information shared on COWIN Portal.
Out of these, 89,27,249 doses of Covishield and 11,76,358 doses of Covaxin have been administered to the people of all age groups.
A total of 82,69,223 have been covered with first dose while more than 18.34 lakh persons (18,34,384) have been fully vaccinated.
The highest coverage of 33,66,015 doses was in the 45-60 age group followed by 27,71,887 vaccinations in the 60+ group and 21,29,283 doses in the 18-44 age group, stated the portal.
Among the districts, Khurda topped the list with the maximum of 14,10,922 vaccinations till today followed by Ganjam at 9,49,609 doses, Cuttack 7,54,626 doses, Balasore 5,59,693, Sundargarh 5,30,336 while Puri registered 4,60,793 doses.
On the other hand, the districts of Bargarh, Kalahandi, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Mayrbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Sambalpur and Koraput registered 3 lakh and above vaccinations so far.
The lowest of 64,297 vaccinations were registered in Boudh district.
The COWIN data further revealed that Odisha’s Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) was 0.0004%.
Meanwhile, the Health & Family Welfare Department shared that due to efficient and effective management of COVID vaccination the state has maintained a negative wastage of 3%, which is one of the best in the country.
By doing so, the state has been able to save 2.9 lakh doses of vaccine till date, the HFW department stated in a tweet.
