Bhubaneswar: Following India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast that the cyclonic storm Amphan will trigger heavy rainfall in 12 coastal districts of Odisha, the Health and Family Welfare Department has taken pre-emptive steps in the four districts which will be severely affected.
Briefing the media here on Saturday, additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Pradipta Mahapatra said as there will be heavy rainfall accompanied by strong wind, collectors and Health staff of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur districts have been asked to shift the migrant workers in all temporary health camps (TMCs) situated within three km from the coastline by May 18.
“The hospitals in these districts have adequate stock of fuel, generator, medicines, anti-venom and bleaching powder etc.
Special medical teams have also been constituted to oversee the situation, he added.
