Odisha DGP Asks COVID-19 Cured Personnel To Donate Plasma
Bhubaneswar: Extending its participation in plasma therapy of serious COVID-19 patients in the state, police department has decided to encourage its personnel who get cured of the disease to donate plasma.
In a circular to all heads of police establishments, Director General of Police Abhay has requested to coordinate and encourage the personnel, who have recovered from COVID-19, to donate plasma.
As per the circular, the donor must be in the age group of 18 to 60 years, weigh above 55 kg, and must have recovered from COVID-19 with complete resolution of symptoms t least 28 days prior to donation.
AIG of police headquarters, Cuttack Vivekanand Sharma has been designated as nodal officer to coordinate with police personnel who have been cured of COVID-19.
Each police personnel who successfully donate plasma will be conferred a “Commendation in his Service Book” by the higher authorities of the place where he is posted, the DG stated in his order.
Earlier, Ganjam SP Brijesh Ray had said 120 policemen of the district have volunteered to donate plasma after their recovery from COVID-19.
