Bhubaneswar: The 73rd All India Hockey Championship – 2025 is set to be held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar in March next year under the aegis of Odisha Police.
Ahead of the event, a preparatory meeting was chaired by DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania at his camp office in Bhubaneswar on Monday. During the meeting, the DGP asked senior police officers to ensure that the championship is organised in a smooth and well-managed manner with proper arrangements, an official statement said.
As many as 27 men’s and 10 women’s teams from across the country are likely to participate in this championship.
The DGP emphasized the need for meticulous planning for players’ accommodations, regular practice sessions, the welcoming of guests, and the smooth execution of the opening and closing ceremonies. Practice sessions will be conducted at Kalinga Stadium, Pokhariput, and KIIT campus grounds, with special arrangements being made at these venues.
Additionally, the championship is likely to attract several international hockey players, VVIPs, and prominent personalities. In view of this, the DGP instructed the officers to implement comprehensive security measures and ensure all necessary facilities for players are provided.

Priyadarshi, Director (SCRB and SFSL) Santosh Bala, ADGP (Law and Order) Sanjay Kumar, ADGP (Headquarters) Dayal Gangwar, ADGP (SAP) Rajesh Kumar, IGP (Training) Anup Kumar Sahu, Additional Commissioner of Police (Cuttack-Bhubaneswar) Dr. Umashankar Dash, DIG (Operations) Akhileshwar Singh, DIG (SIW) Kanwar Vishal Singh.
