Phulbani: A doctor posted at the district headquarters hospital in Odisha’s Kandhamal district reportedly died on the way to Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to sources, Sisir Kumar Pradhan, senior surgeon and a native of Berhampur, along with his wife and son had gone for darshan of Vaishno Devi at Katra on Trikuta Mountains in Jammu and Kashmir on March 5. After arriving at Katra on Friday, the family hired a horse en-route to Vaishno Devi temple. However, the doctor fell down on the way to the temple and became unconscious
He was later rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced him as brought dead. Sources in the hospital said that the doctor died due to heart attack.
The body was later brought to Berhampur from where it was later taken to Swargadwar in Puri for cremation.
