Bhubaneswar: Chaiti Gond, wife of School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, was among the over 75,000 primary teachers who appeared for the special OTET examination on Saturday.
She took the test, which is mandatory for recruitment and promotion of teachers, at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Nuagada.
Chaiti is posted as a teacher at UV-3 School in Dangriguda under Umerkote block in Nabarangpur district. She expressed confidence about her performance and optimism about clearing the exam.
Similarly, Nabarangpur MLA Gouri Shankar Majhi,’s wife Taruni Majhi, also appeared for the test at RCD School.
There are two papers in the examination. The first paper was held from 9 am to 11.30 am and the second paper from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.
Ahead of that the BSE had written a letter to the authorities to make arrangements and ensure 24-hour power supply in the exam centres. This has been done keeping the present weather condition of Odisha in view.
This examination was earlier scheduled for July 20, but the test was cancelled unexpectedly by the Board of Secondary Education amid allegations of a question paper leak.
