Bhubaneswar: Biju Janta Dal (BJD) president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is set to hold marathon campaign at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district and Khariar in Nuapada on Monday to bolster the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections.
Odisha is witnessing high-voltage campaign for the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on Monday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also on a visit to the state to campaign for BJP candidates.
According to BJD sources, the ruling party chief will attend a public meeting first in Bhawanipatna. The meeting will also be attended by BJD’s MLA and MP candidates. A large number of party workers and leaders have already assembled at the meeting venue as the regional party is gearing up to woo the voters for the twin elections.
Thereafter, the CM is slated to proceed to Khariar where he will hold campaign for the party candidates for the upcoming elections.
Earlier, the CM had held marathon campaign at Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Paralakhemundi. VK Pandian, another star campaigner of the ruling BJD, had accompanied Naveen during the rallies.
Notably, polling will be held in four phases in Odisha on May 13, 20, 25 and June 1.
