Bhubaneswar: Reiterating the claim that chief minister Naveen Patnaik was being held captive by BJD leader VK Pandian, former Odisha president of BJP Samir Mohanty on Thursday appealed to chief secretary and DGP to release him from the captivity.
Speaking to media persons in the party headquarters here, Mohanty said the video messages of the chief minister, released by the BJD in the social media, revealed his helpless condition. “The was Naveen Babu has been presented in the videos has shocked the people of the state. The BJD president’s video, which showed him wearing and appealing to vote for Conch symbol of the party, was not only shocking but also humiliating for all of us,” Mohanty said.
He further said the chief minister’s recent videos on various issues during the BJD’s campaign for dual elections in the state also proved that he was behaving like a toy in the hands of Pandian. “In some videos, Tamil Babu is asking a question and Naveen is answering like a robot. Those also have fun music in the background. Such silly acts have never been appreciated by the chief minister,” he added.
He further said the situation has aggravated to such an extent that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union Minister Giriraj Singh have also expressed their concern on the matter. “It is a matter of regret that Naveen Babu is behaving like a parrot in the cage. BJP appeals to the people of Odisha to get united and release the chief minister from the evil designs of the former Tamil bureaucrat,” Mohanty said.
Expressing his concern over the silence of the state administration in this regard, the BJP leader appealed to chief secretary and director general of police to consider the BJP’s allegation seriously and take urgent steps for release of the chief minister from the captivity of Pandian.
