Odisha Fights Corona: 2394 Retired Cops To Be Reappointed As SPOs
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has decided to re-engage 2394 retired policemen as special police officers (SPOs) on a contractual basis to overcome manpower shortage during COVID-19 crisis.
In a letter to the Director General of Police (DGP), special secretary, Home, has asked him to take the necessary step in the reappointment of these retired policemen on a temporary basis for three months.
The special secretary has also said that the DGP can give a proposal to increase the tenure of these retired cops if required.
