Bhubaneswar: A day after a youth in Kendrapara district tested positive for COVID-19, the district administration on Tuesday sealed 11 villages adjoining Aul and declared them as containment zone.
Briefing the media here, Kendrapara Collector Samarth Verma said that the 11 villages within three km radius of Aul have been sealed for 14 days. “We have asked the people in the containment zone not to move out of their houses and assured them that they would be provided essential items. Besides, a medical team will go door to door and examine the health of each family and its members,” he added.
He also requested people not to panic as the infected person, who had returned from Dubai on March 24, is being kept in hospital isolation.
“We have shifted the patient to Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack where special measures are in place to treat COVID-19 patients,” Verma said.
