Bhawanipatna: Five days after a 29-year-old Bahrain returnee tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), another youth of the Kalahandi district was on Thursday found to have contracted the infection.
As informed by the chief district medical officer (CDMO) Jagu Agrawal on Friday, the youth had come in contact with the first patient with whom he had played cricket.
“The district administration during the contract tracing of the first patient had kept the second youth in hospital isolation and sent his blood and swab samples for tests. The results later confirmed that he was corona positive,” he added.
Agrawal said that the infected youth will be shifted to the Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack later in the day.
