Odisha Fights COVID-19: All Bomikhal Cases In Bhubaneswar Belong To Same Family
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday morning informed that the city has 30 active cases of COVID-19 as of now.
Of these 30 cases, most are linked to the first cases confirmed in Surya Nagar and Bomikhal, the Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Department tweeted. “Almost all the cases in Bomikhal are from one family. Both the clusters have sealed and put under active surveillance,” it added.

The department also urged city denizens not to panic about the rising number of positive cases.
During these challenging times we request people to remain calm. All possible contacts of the COVID positive cases shall be traced, isolated and tested. That is the only way to contain further transmission. Every citizen can break the chain by staying indoors.

Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in association with the Fire Services Department has begun sanitization in the containment zones of Surya Nagar, Bomikhal and Kapila Prasad Housing Board Colony (Phase-II).
The H&FW Department has decided to conduct a door-to-door health check-up of all residents by a team of doctors in these containment zones.
BMC has also engaged mobile vans to provide doorstep delivery essential items like vegetables, fruits and grocery to help the people living in the containment zones.
